Our weekly partner spotlight. This week we take a look at Empilweni in Khayelitsha, South Africa.

Empilweni is making it happen by providing and advocating for mental health care. It is the primary mental health referral source for schools and clinics in Khayelitsha.

Empilweni helps children heal from difficult experiences such as neglect and abuse, creating a place for children to receive therapeutic counseling. They work closely with psychologists to train community members as counselors. These counselors also work directly with parents to improve relationships at home so that children are cared for in a nurturing environment.
