Christopher Ifeanyi-Nwanze 

 

Christopher Ifeanyi-Nwanze is the Director of Communications & Research at the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Presidential Center for Women and Development (EJS Center). In this role, he is responsible for creating and implementing communication strategies and producing research projects that will raise the profile of the EJS Center and its key stakeholders.

Before joining the EJS Center, Chris headed the Communications Unit at the Open Society Initiative for West Africa (OSIWA). In that role, he was responsible for creating and implementing the Foundation’s communications strategy. During his tenure at the OSIWA, he implemented a highly effective social media strategy that positioned the Foundation as a source for governance-related content in the subregion. In addition, he managed over $400,000 in grants, oversaw a successful rebranding of the Foundation, co-created and co-managed a women’s rights campaign, and launched several photography exhibitions across West Africa and the United States.

Before OSIWA, Chris served as the Development Communications Officer with the UN Economic Commission for Africa’s African Institute for Economic Development and Planning (IDEP). He also ran a web solutions company in the US. Chris holds an MBA in Leadership & Organizational Change and a Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Information Studies and Media. He also served on the board of West Africa Democracy Radio (WADR) as Chair from March 2022 – May 2024.
