Make it Happen Monday
Our weekly partner spotlight. This week we take a look at Women Against AIDS in Kilimanjaro (KIWAKKUKI) in Tanzania.
KIWAKKUKI is making it happen by supporting families and children affected by HIV and AIDS. KIWAKKUKI was founded in 1990 by a group of women concerned about the impact of HIV and AIDS in their community, particularly on women and children. They believe all children should have an opportunity to go to school and be treated with respect and kindness.
Recently, KIWAKKUKI established learning clubs in village schools. The learning clubs provide teacher training and facilitate positive relationships between teachers and students. KIWAKKUKI also works closely with parents and caregivers. They conduct home visits to ensure a good learning environment is provided for all children and offer parenting support and mentoring.
