The Firelight Foundation is committed to respecting the privacy of our online visitors.

We do not share information that is collected from our internal website tracking or subscription system with any individual or organization. We use a variety of security methods to protect your personal Information from unauthorized use, access, or disclosure.

The following statement discloses the Firelight Foundation's privacy policies and the terms of use for our website.

Information Gathering & Use

Overview

When you visit the Firelight website, we collect some basic aggregate information, such as total number of visitors, pages viewed, and other non-personally identifiable information. We use this information to improve our website and the resources that we offer on it. We do not collect any personal information when you visit and browse our website.

Online Donations

When you choose to make an online donation, however, we require that you provide personal information. Firelight Foundation has partnered with Network for Good to securely process your online credit card donation via the Network for Good Donor Advised Fund (tax ID 68-0480736). This transaction will appear on your credit card statement as "Network for Good." This transaction is subject to Network for Good’s Privacy, Security & Disclosure Statement.

When you make a donation to Firelight by pressing the "DonateNow" button, Networkforgood.org collects some personal information about you in order to properly process your donation. This personal information includes: name, address, phone, email address, your credit card information, "acknowledgement" or "in memory of" information, and the donation amount. Networkforgood.org shares this information only with the Firelight Foundation, so that Firelight can count you among our supporters. You have the option to make your donation anonymously. If you choose this option, Networkforgood.org will not share any of your contact information with Firelight.

Networkforgood.org collects credit card information so that they can process donations and monthly fees. Networkforgood.org maintains this information on their secure servers for their internal processes only. Networkforgood.org uses a credit card processing company to process donations and monthly fees, and therefore does not retain, share, store, or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes.

If you select "I want to make a recurring donation", you will be registering to make a credit card donation every month, every 3 months, or every year. After you complete this initial donation, future donations will be made automatically. You will receive an email receipt from Networkforgood.org for each recurring donation. As soon as you complete this initial donation, you will receive a separate email containing a password and a link to the DonateNow system where you can review and change your donation options (amount, frequency, billing information) at any time. You will also be able to cancel your recurring donation at any point in the future.

Donors can view and update their personal information on the DonateNow system by using their passwords and the link that Networkforgood.org provides.

Security of Online Donations

Networkforgood.org takes every precaution to protect donor information. When donors submit sensitive information via their web site, their information is protected both online and off-line. When a form asks donors to enter sensitive information (such as credit card number or address), that information is encrypted and is protected with the most commonly used and trusted encryption software: SSL. While on a secure page, such as a donation form, the lock icon on the bottom of web browsers becomes locked. In addition to protecting sensitive information online, Networkforgood.org also takes robust precautionary measures to protect donor information off-line.

Subscribing to Our Mailing Lists

The Firelight Foundation also requests personal information from website visitors who sign up to receive special email or print publications by mail, namely, your name, mailing address, phone number, and email address. We use this information to provide the email and print communications you request and to keep you informed about our work. You always have the option to "unsubscribe" (or "opt-out") of such communications. Firelight does not send cookies (small bits of information) to your browser or hard drive.

Networkforgood.org uses session cookies while a visitor is making a donation using a Networkforgood.org DonateNow button in order to properly verify a donor's identity as they move from one donation page to the next. These session cookies are not linked to personally identifiable information.

Children under the Age of 13

The Firelight Foundation does not knowingly collect any personal information from a child without the consent of the child's parent(s)/guardians. Children under the age of 13 should obtain parental consent before making an online donation or signing up for email or mail communications from the Firelight Foundation.
